QuickBooks requires internet explorer settings to establish a connection with the network. The JavaScript or VBScript helps QuickBooks to connect to the Internet. If there is any QuickBooks script error, there is a problem with internet explorer settings that can be resolved by reconfiguring IE. Here are some of the best fixes to resolve the script error in QuickBooks.
Step 1. The first step is to add Intuit as a trusted website in internet explorer. You will need to launch the IE and click the Security tab in the settings menu. Now click trusted sites and add Intuit.com. Now get back to the trusted side window and uncheck the server verification option. Further, go to the advanced tab and uncheck enable enhanced protected mode. Now close the Internet Explorer window and try to relaunch QuickBooks.
Step 2. The next step is to clear the internet explorer cache files or browser data. Open Internet Explorer, go to the browser history.
Now select history, cookies, and temporary Internet files and click delete. Finally, click apply and click ok.
Load the web page again. A script error, especially an error that indicates a script is taking too long to run, can be fixed by reloading the web page. If the error doesn't reoccur, then you don't have to worry about it. If it continues to come back, there may be a problem with the web browser. To force a web page to reload in Windows, press Ctrl+F5. To force a web page to reload in macOS, press Command+Shift+R.
Update the web browser. Outdated web browsers sometimes interact with scripts in unexpected ways that end up creating errors. Updating Google Chrome or Firefox is straightforward.
Load other web pages. If you see script errors on one website, there's probably a problem with the scripts on that website, and there's nothing you can do about it. If you see script errors on several websites, there's probably a problem with the web browser.
Switch to a different web browser. This is an easy and important step that can help narrow down the source of the problem. If the web page loads fine in a different browser, then there's a problem with the first browser.
Load the web page with a different device. If you see a script error when you visit a web page on your computer, but you don't see it when you visit that page with your phone, a friend's computer, or another device, then the problem is on your end. If you see the same error on several devices, there is probably a problem with the website. In that case, all you can do is wait for the web designer to fix the problem.
Remove temporary internet files. If there are corrupted internet cache files on the computer, you may see script errors. In most cases, clearing the web browser cache fixes this problem.
